About
We were asked to develop the brand strategy, identity, and website for The Baltic Canal, a residential building near Brooklyn’s Gowanus Canal. The name came from its location on Baltic Street and its proximity to the canal. It felt right to anchor the brand in its geography, in a part of the city that’s raw, layered, and still shifting.
Mission
The goal was to create a brand that felt grounded and warm, reflecting both the building’s material character and the area’s layered past. Drawing from the site’s industrial context, we focused on muted colors and modular elements to convey something lived-in, tactile, and rooted, but still contemporary.

BRAND IDENTITY

The Arch as Anchor

The logo is modular, built around a single arch, a visual form pulled from canal structures found in cities like Venice, Hamburg, and Ghent. It shifts in height and width depending on where it needs to live.

BRAND IDENTITY

Color from Brooklyn’s Industrial Past

For the color palette, we pulled from the area’s industrial past—muted, worn-in, shaped by use. A mix of warm reds & cool grays bridges the location’s history with the building’s architecture, creating something fresh yet deeply rooted.
WEB DESIGN

Built To Impress. Made To Feel Like Home.

The website we created for The Baltic Canal is clean, modern, and engaging, just like its architecture & branding. Ample white space, sharp messaging & interactive design keep visitors immersed, guiding them to experience the building in person. We gave the same attention to the neighborhood section, featuring local businesses & institutions through an interactive map.
WEB DESIGN

All About the Amenities

The amenities are the heart of The Baltic Canal, and the website we designed puts them front and center. Interactive cards and bespoke illustrations bring the experience to life, informing and delighting users. From luxury amenities like the gym, sauna & meditation room to the surrounding local shops and Brooklyn community, the website reflects the building’s elegant, modern aesthetic while offering all the essential information at a quick glance.
WEB DESIGN

Built to Adapt

The site was built to adapt. Typography, layout, and interaction scale cleanly across devices, with nothing lost on mobile. Performance stays sharp through lazy loading and a lightweight structure, keeping the experience fast, clear, and focused. The design holds up — quiet, practical, and intentional.
